Using Two Puppets With Lip Sync and Pre-recorded Audio

Hello! I have recently started recording a podcast. There are two hosts. The podcast will be recorded and edited in Audition. We would like to animate the podcast using Character Animator. We would prefer to animate it after the fact, rather than when we're actually recording.

I was wondering if lip syncing is difficult with two puppets from pre-recorded audio. I can't find any videos/tutorials on lipsyncing with multiple puppets from audio that's already recorded. Will I need each person on a separate track? Thanks for any help. I know it will take me some time to fully understand the program, so I'd like to know if it's actually capable of this before I spend all that time.

Also if you know of any tutorials that cover this specifically, that would be amazing. Thanks!

No, it's not difficult at all. It's best to use Audition to break the dialog down into sentences so that you can work with the dialog from each puppet separately. Once the audio is imported into Character Animator (CH), simply highlight each bit of audio and make sure the red dot is lit on the appropriate puppet. Then use Timeline>Compute Lipsync Take from Scene Audio.

With a little practice, you should have no trouble getting each puppet to speak appropriately.

@TheOriginalGC Each eposide of the podcast is at least an hour long, so I think that actually would be a lot of work. Is there a way to import each persons audio on a separate track or something?

Yes, it's possible, though I'm not sure how to do it, since audio is not really my forte. But theoretically, you should be able to do it.
