Question

Walk behavior not working

Hi

I created a character, added a walk cycle and sucessfully rigger it.
But after adding a new scene the puppet is slumped over  (bent forwards) when it walks and both arms are moving together instead of swing forward and backwards independantly.
I'm not aware that I did anything to cause it and I've checked the rigging and I cant see any changes.

Can somone advise me if they have seen this behavior and how to fix it.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Probably just where you placed the waist handle. Experiment with where you place waist, hips and shoulders. Just moving the handle a few pixels can make a lot of difference. Try moving the waist back a little. If you still have issues you may need to post a video and screenshot of your setup. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm very much on a beginner's learning cycle and I did look carefully at my rigging.
It turned out that the walk 'Style' had changed to 'Slump'.

What I found was that my mouse wheel was scrolling throug the walk style options and changing it without me realising it !
I dont like that you need to de-sellect the 'style' by selecting another option and then hitting 'return'.
Otherwise the focus remains live when your not even aware of it.

I dont know if other users have a problem with this I certainly did, It would be good if you could hit 'return' to de-sellect the menu.

Thanks you again for your help, it is very much appreciated.

Yeah I've had that accidental scroll happen several times. Then had to go hunting for what is going on. Good detective work though 🙂
