Question

What's the quickest way to 'reskin' a puppet

I want use CA to create single scenes where the puppet can then be ‘reskinned’, given different lip synchs and backgrounds so that I can create multiple animations to target different groups/communities.

Am I right in thinking that I would just Edit Original with the puppet and copy over the Photoshop/Illustrator file ensuring all layers are the same? All the rigging would still be there, right?

Or is there a better way of doing this?

Thanks, Greg

Yes, you can edit the original file and change the content as you describe. Be aware that changes in the proportions of the layer content can have unexpected results in CH, moving the layer contents far from where you would normally expect. The only fix is to locate the part(s) and drag them back to where they are supposed to be.

Thanks for that

Also, would I be able to create my own assets in puppet maker to help with this?

Currently, there is no way for users to make their own templates in Puppet Maker as the process is too complex. That may be addressed later but for now, all you can do is make a puppet in puppet maker and edit the resulting puppet in PS or AI.
