Hello,   We using Cold fusion 2018 on Windows Server 2016.When I am trying to submit a Form to call another page within the application I get an error which states "Error Occurred While Processing Request. Please try again. Invalid attribute value CF_SQL_STRING for attribute CFSQLTypeTheerror occurred on line 223"I am not sure why the string value is throwing up an error. I want to confirm that this is accurate.The FAQ for both Standard and Enterprise editions both say this:How do I license ColdFusion on containerized deployments?Every containerized deployment needs to be licensed as per the ColdFusion End User Licensing Agreement (EULA). For instance, if ColdFusion is being deployed on two containers on a single VM instance, then both containers running ColdFusion will have to be licensed separately as per the ColdFusion EULA based on that VM instance being used.My initial reaction is to assume that they copied and pasted the FAQs and that at least the Enterprise edition isn't so limited. It would seem the height of folly to do all this great work on the 2018 release only to stifle the ability to use

Hi. We have set up a SQL 2017 failover cluster (active/passive).We have created the datasource in ColdFusion to the IP of the AG database and it's all OK.If i switch the SQL servers all old request from coldfusion remain suspended (new request go to the active server).I found in MS documentation how to set JDBC driver in HA:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/jdbc/jdbc-driver-support-for-high-availability-disaster-recovery?view=sql-server-ver15But it seems that it cannot be done with the native coldfusion JDBS driver for MSSQL. I've to use the MS JDBC Driver (acctual version 7.4.1.0)?It's supported?Or there's a way to use the multiSubnetFailover in the coldfusion native driver?

Hi, we're in the process of porting our application to ColdFusion 2018. The staging server was on CF 2018 updater 4 and the site worked well. We eventully updated to updater 7 and the site stopped working with exception: Branch Target Offset Too Large for ShortThe code was not modified, the JAVA version stayed the same - 11.0.4. Only the latest ColdFusion updater was installed.We returned to updater 4 as this was working.We got this exception with a different code in CF 11 in the past, which worked in CF 2016. We can maybe shorten the code (break it down, whatever). It's a surprise to see this exception out of a sudden, as it used to disappear using a newer updater. Has anyone of you experienced the same exception, recently? Which updater (5, 6, 7) introduced this behaviour?

We seem to be easily be able to reproduce an issue with CFFile in CF 2018. Doing a simply copy action on a file in 2018 seems to be 3-4 times slower then CF 11. When doing this on a local file it can take around 1-2ms to copy but on CF2018 this can take up to 15ms. The issue is worse where we use it as we copy using S3:/ - this can be the difference of 300ms on CF11 to 900ms on CF 2018 When dealing with a lot of images, these increases can make things take a lot longer.  So the question is, has something changed in the recent version of CF to cause a CFFile to work differently? We are testing on Windows Server 2012 with CF 11 HF 18 and CF 2018 HF 6 We have done the same test on Windows Server 2016 with the same results. All have the same JVM settings and specs. Two fresh installs on different servers and one upgrade, all produce the same results.  Any ideas before I submit a bug. Just incase I am missing anything obvious.

I am working on an install of CF 2018, and have migrated a website that was working in CF 8 (yes, I know, it's ancient) and is not working now.In trying to match the settings between the two installs, I apparently moved or changed something that has now caused the CF administrator to stop working. I can't get IN to the CF administrator, so I can't find the setting to fix it.On the Administrator index page, instead of getting the login page, the page is black with a search window on it. There is a popup that says "Message from webpage Error invoking CFC /CFIDE/administrator/updates/download.cfc : WDDX packed parst error at line 1, column 1. Content is not allowe in prolog.. [Enable debugging by adding 'cfdebug' to your URL parameters to see more information]Adding cfdebug isn't giving me any other information.How do I fix this without uninstalling and reinstalling the whole program? Thank you

We're having a strange problem since the code was migrated from CF10 to CF2016. I'd appreciate your opinions. There is something strange with the way data are retrieved from an AS400 database. The customer used an ODBC driver but installed an AS400 Java driver and the problem persists.The screenshot shows a query on an AS400 table and a subsequent QoQ. The left version is CF10, the right version is CF2016.It appears that alphanumeric values on the AS400 come with a trailing blank (LVSROM="QW" but it is in fact "QW "). LVSROM is just an example, the same happens with other alphanumeric fields. The old version of the subsequent QoQ finds something, surprisingly, even though the where clause says "='QW'" and even though there is a trailing blank in the data - CF seems to ignore this trailing blank - in fact the query doesn't even work if the trailing blank is attached in the where clause (see example). I don't understand this but it worked.The QoQ in the 2016 CF version (right side) won't

I am migrating my website from Windows server 2008 to Windows server 2019. I've got CF 2018. I cannot get it to connect with my MS Access database. Did all the ODCB entries. Registry has the correct information. When trying to make and verify the connection in CF admin, I get "java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][SequeLink Server]The specified data source is not defined". I found a website that said Windows 2016+ does not support SequeLink. I don't know if that is the problem. I just need to get CF2018 and my database connected. Any solutions? 

I'm moving a non-profit's site from CF10 to ColdFusion 2016. Did something change regarding how form data was added to arguments?We have a simple donation form using the well publicized authorize.net CFC (from John C. Bland II . Form data was pushed to authorizenet.cfc component which processes, and returns the authorization information. On CF10, they had co-mingled #arguments.variable1# with #form.variableZ# to insert the data, along with the merchant response, to a mysql database (and properly not storing the credit card data) , and sending a couple confirmation emails.However, with CF16 it seems to be that once I call the authorizenet component, the form data is no longer present when the insert function runs and emails are generated.

I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

I'm doing a QoQ for last names and sometimes I run into O'Briens or O'Tooles and these won't search. I'm using:<cfset Variables.SearchName="%"&LCase(Trim(Form.Name))&"%">(LOWER(LastName) LIKE <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_VARCHAR" value="#Variables.SearchName#"> Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hello all, We just recently added a new Coldfusion Enterprise 2018 server to our mix ( IIS 10 ) and are getting 404 errors on .cfr ( coldfusion report files ). I searched this community ( and google ) but could not find any answers.  Does anyone have any help here? I know that report builder is depreciated but should still run. Thanks, Dave

Greetings,I'm having a hard time all of a sudden trying to install ColdFusion on my refreshed Windows 10 machine. I've never had any issues before and all of a sudden, can't get the installation to finish. I've tried CF10, CF 2016, and CF 2018, all erroring out when starting the install.I'm running out of options as I can't find anything on Google that points to a solution for this issue. I had this working fine before my machine was refreshed from Windows 7 to 10. I installed java latest update of 8u231 and also java JDK 13.0.1, thinking that would help since this appears to be java related.  I'm not sure if i'm missing another java related files but this error isn't clear on what it needs to continue. I'm including screen shots of the error messages from each ColdFusion version I've tried to eliminate any possiblity of version issue (CF10, CF 2016, & CF 2018)If anyone has any tips on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.

What are the recommended APIs to use with CF Developers edition?

We have upgraded our application recently from CF10 to CF2018 Update 5. Apart from the JS library changes, we are seeing performance relevant issues. The time to load has increased exponentially. e.g. the ext-all.js is taking around 10-30 secs to load on different servers. Even a simple image would take 2-5 secs load. If someone could help me here. Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a new website on CF2016 Enterprise. Its returning 500 - Internal Server Error when browsing .cfm pages. seems to be okay for .htm The new second wesbite is my first time installing a second website on a CF server running mutliple CF servers which may be compunding the problem. The website that is working does have a jakarta VD pointing to: C:\ColdFusion2016\config\wsconfig\2The website that does NOT work has a virtual directory is pointing to C:\ColdFusion2016\config\wsconfig\1 I've run WSCONFIG ( as admin ) from the folder C:\ColdFusion2016\my new website folder\runtime\bin and it displays both websites the same:   I'm probably missing something obvious.    

After a mail server problem, I have many undelivered mail in the Coldfsuion Mail "undelivr" directory.The Mail server is up againIs there a possibility to resend all these mails ?I tried a copy/paste of mails into the "spool" directorybut these mail are resent into the "undelivr" directoryand new mails are sent correctly.Thanks for help.Pierre.

I would like to extract the nth occurance of a token from a string based on the position of a pattern matching more than one characters, vs. the single character list of delimiters that GetToken() supports. GetToken() is great in many contexts, but not this one! Haven't found anything in CFLib, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. Seems like it should be a common need.    

Hello,   I am trying to register our new Coldfusion license for 2018 on the Developer version installed on our server. I am going into the settings summary on the Admin page , as per the instrauctions it says I should see a New License field but I do not see any new license field.  All I see at the top is "When clicked, generates a PDF with the Server Settings in a new Window. " How to register my Developer version with the new license key ?    Also I would like to use the same Enterprise version license for our Development and Production servers, is this possible ? ThanksIQ

Hi Adobe,are you serious about deprecating RB?We are producing thousands of pdf files every day based on cfr-reports.Reporting is a big usage-area for CF in many companies I think.Why are you abandoning it?Is there already a plan when RB will no longer be available in CF?What are your recommendations on alternatives to use?Will Crystal Reports be supported in the future or is this to be dropped, too?Would be nice to have a statement on this.Thank youJörg
