Why is the Adobe Reader app asking me to update my payment method even though my subscription is still active? My subscription is valid until August 30, 2027.

Thank you for posting, @athletic_Fountaine2ae.

I understand how confusing it can be to receive a request to update your payment method when you also see an active subscription through August 2027.

In reviewing the account, I can see an active Acrobat Premium mobile subscription that was purchased through the Google Play Store on August 30. However, there are also separate Adobe-managed subscriptions for Acrobat Pro and the AI Assistant for Acrobat, which were started on December 22, 2025. Both of those Adobe-managed subscriptions are currently past due and require an update to the payment method.

The payment update message is likely related to the Adobe-managed subscriptions rather than your Google Play subscription. You can review and update your payment details by signing in to your Adobe account and checking your Plans page.

Thanks also to @kglad for helping clarify that Reader itself is typically free unless a mobile subscription is involved.
