Accidental subscription

I needed illustrator for a project that whould take up 1-2 months and I thought that I had purchased it for a month and could cancel when I would be done. I realised that I had signed up for a year of adobe and if I cancel now I have to pay a rather large fee. What should I do? I had no idea there was a fee for canceling and I know that's my bad but is it possible to cancel without paying the fee? I'm not going to use adobe for a whole year and it feels like a complete waste of money. Please help!!!

SOME programs are available Monthly https://community.adobe.com/t5/Get-Started/Being-charged-for-a-full-year-when-i-m-on-month-to-month/td-p/10248222 - links and pictures (you do need to specifically select the Monthly subscription, not the annual subscription with monthly payments)

you can appeal to adobe support, but don't expect much.  there are 2 ways to contact adobe support; chat and twitter (now x):

chat:
if you have or want to purchase a subscription, use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

twitter/x:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.
