What seems to happen sometimes is they use stolen credit card details to buy a real subscription in your name, while taking payment for your "cheap year". Then you get a real subscription - until the credit card holder notices and cancels. At best, then, you lose your subscription. At worse... well, you may have a virus, you may be questioned for how come you have a subscription with a stolen credit card, and these people now have your credit card to work the same trick for some more people.
