Adobe, After 20 Years as a Paying Customer, I've Had Enough. Your Pricing and Cancellation Policies Are Outrageous
I've been a paying Adobe customer for 20 YEARS, and I genuinely cannot believe what this company has become.
Adobe used to be an essential tool for creative professionals. I was happy to pay for quality software because it was worth it. But today? Your products have become ridiculously expensive, and your subscription policies are absolutely unacceptable.
Let's face reality: AI has completely changed the game. I barely use Adobe anymore because AI tools can now handle most of the things I previously needed Adobe for.
And here's the frustrating part: I would actually LIKE to keep my Adobe subscription. After two decades, I still appreciate some of your products, and I'd happily pay a reasonable price to use them occasionally.
But why on earth should I pay these outrageous subscription fees when I might only need the software ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS?
And then comes the truly disgusting part.
After months of not using your software, I decided to cancel my subscription.
Adobe wants to charge me a €100 CANCELLATION PENALTY.
Yes, you read that correctly.
-
I haven't used the software in months.
-
I don't want to continue paying for something I barely use.
-
Adobe won't let me cancel without paying approximately €100.
-
Adobe won't even let me delete my account without first paying that penalty.
SO BASICALLY, ADOBE IS HOLDING MY ACCOUNT HOSTAGE UNTIL I PAY THEM.
What kind of customer relationship is this? After 20 years of loyalty, this is how you treat me?
Instead of offering flexible subscriptions, affordable occasional-use plans, or rewarding long-term customers, Adobe seems determined to squeeze every last euro out of people who no longer need its software every day.
THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER LOYALTY. THIS IS CUSTOMER EXPLOITATION.
And here's my prediction:
If Adobe continues down this road, in five years you will be facing a very serious crisis.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the creative software industry. Alternatives are becoming more powerful, more accessible, and significantly cheaper.
And while the entire industry is moving toward greater flexibility and accessibility, Adobe seems obsessed with locking customers into expensive contracts and punishing them for leaving.
You are not encouraging loyalty. You are creating resentment.
You are not protecting your business. You are driving your own customers straight into the arms of your competitors.
And when those customers leave, many of them will never come back.
Twenty years as a paying customer, and instead of thanking me for my loyalty, Adobe wants another €100 just to let me walk away.
Absolutely disgraceful.
I am not asking for free software. I am asking for reasonable prices, flexible subscriptions, and the basic freedom to stop paying for a service I no longer use.
Adobe, wake up. The world has changed. AI has changed everything. Your customers have changed. But your pricing and cancellation policies are stuck in the past.
And if you think you can keep forcing people to pay through restrictive contracts while better and cheaper alternatives emerge every month, you are in for a very unpleasant surprise.
You've turned a loyal 20-year customer into someone who now actively wants to leave your ecosystem. Congratulations.
And to Adobe's management: Don't be surprised when the customers you've spent years squeezing finally decide they've had enough.
