Adobe charged a different credit card without my authorization after payment failure - Need help
Hello everyone,
I would appreciate your advice regarding my Adobe Stock subscription.
Here is what happened:
I signed up for what I believed was a 7-day free trial.
Unfortunately, I did not realize it was an annual plan paid monthly.
I missed the 14-day cancellation period.
The subscription was set to be paid using my Visa card ending in 2477.
For the past few months, the payment on that card failed because there were insufficient funds.
On July 27, 2026, Adobe emailed me saying there was a payment issue and asked me to update my payment information.
I did not click the link, update my payment method, or make any changes to my account.
Later that same day, Adobe charged a different credit card that was already saved on my Adobe account for another subscription.
I was surprised because I never changed the payment method for this subscription and did not expect Adobe to automatically use another saved credit card.
Now, if I try to cancel the plan, Adobe asks me to pay an early cancellation fee of approximately IDR 4,448,048, which is much higher than the monthly subscription.
My questions are:
Is it Adobe's policy to automatically charge another saved payment method after the original payment method fails?
Has anyone experienced the same situation?
Is there any way to request a cancellation without the early cancellation fee under these circumstances?
I am hoping Adobe can review my case and consider a one-time exception.
Thank you very much.
