ADOBE IS DRAINING MY BANK ACCOUNT
Hey-
First I want to say that I have desperately been searching for a way to contact adobe and this is the best I could find which is evil but I guess the blatant scam Adobe has been doing to my life is evil enough to post publically. So, a few years ago I was trying to do a project for graduate school and I guess I accidentally started an Adobe free trial with my work account. I am a public school teacher. When I tried to access the applications, it was stated that my work device does not allow these apps to be installed, so I moved on to something else.
Since then, I have had a charge on my account monthly for $70 that I could not figure out where it was coming from or why I was getting charged. For a long time, I figured it was a medical charge having to do with my medications- but only recently did I realize it was coming from this evil company.
I tried to cancel it - and it tells me I need to "contact admin" in order to cancel this insanely expensive subscription that my device has never been able to access. I have no idea what they mean by "admin" but if they mean the principal of my school, she should have retired ten years ago and does not even use a computer - rather, does everything on paper- so asking her "How do I cancel my adobe subscription?" Would be like asking a pigeon on the street what they ate for breakfast- pointless.
I want to point out that I don't make or have a lot of money. I feel completely taken advantage of and absolutely trapped. I cannot even afford a personal device to use this outrageously expensive product if I wanted to. HOW THE HELL DO I GET OUT OF THIS HELL HOLE SUBSCRIPTION- y'all are praying on a poor teacher and that is messed up.
There have been multiple months that I have had my card declined trying to get essential items like food or gas and it was because of this damn product.
I also want to point out there are multiple laws that prevent companies from trapping people into subscriptions:
Federal Trade Commission (FTC) "Click-to-Cancel" Rule: This rule, which went into effect in July 2025, mandates that companies make canceling a subscription as easy as signing up.
- Key provisions include:
Requiring businesses to provide a simple, online cancellation mechanism, such as a prominent button or link, if the customer signed up online.
Prohibiting sellers from misrepresenting any material facts about the subscription.
Mandating that companies provide a straightforward cancellation process and promptly honor cancellation requests. - Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA): Passed in 2010, ROSCA requires online sellers to:
Clearly and conspicuously disclose all material terms of an automatic renewal offer before obtaining a consumer's billing information.
Get a consumer's express informed consent before charging their credit or debit card.
Provide a simple mechanism for consumers to stop recurring charges.
I suggest anyone supporting a brand that takes advantage of low-income people STOP SUBSCRIBING and can someone, please for the love of god, tell me how to cancel this drain. Thank you!
