Adobe Story still works

I can still write and export with Adobe Story offline version. 

  Why is it working? 

Id rather be lazy and keep using it but if it suddenly disappears ...

  Have I entered an alternate vortex that may collapse at any moment or is this forever?

Adobe didn't set out to stop it working locally but it could stop any time sure, with no warning or comeback. Fine so long as you back up everything in a portable format every day...
