Adobe subsription scam

I`m a teacher that had a year plan paying 19.95. They just made the price 29.95 and I can`t cancel without paying 50% of the whole year! I don`t want to use Adobe anymore as a private person, only through my school, and wanted to take of the automatic subscription, so I don`t do the same mistake next year. But customer service says I can`t! It`s a scam! They are trying to scam their costumers. Is it so? I thought Adobe was a legit company! At least here in Norway I would call this a scam. I see people from the US saying that`s how all companies are. I`m tempted to cancel all my students subscriptions and start using other alternative programs.

The first year of a subscription is always discounted. At the end of the first year, the price goes up to the regular cost for the plan.

You are now paying the regular price for an educational subscription, which is already heavily discounted from a normal subscription ($29.95 for educational versus $52.95 for regular).

When you clicked "I Agree" to the terms and conditions when you purchased your subscription, you agreed to the automatic renewal and the cancellation fee, and acknowledged that the price would go up after the first year.

If you cancel within the first 14 days of the renewal, you should get the cancellation without the fee. If this isn't the case, talk to customer service. If it's already more than 14 days past renewal, talk to them anyway. They may waive the fee if you explain your financial situation, but there's no guarantee.
