Being charged twice after changing plans

Hello ive been using creative cloud for the past 2 years, however do to an increase in cost today i decided to cancel my plan, originally it was 19,99 and now it is 39,99. Since its the first of the month adobe renewed my suscription charging me 39,99, it was fine nevertheless i decided to cancel my subscription, during the cancel process adobe offered me a new deal, to give me 12 months 50% off, only charging me 19,99 until august of the next year, i of course accepted since its the price i was originally charged since the beggining. During this process adobe made me pay 19,99 for the new plan, which i did, and specifically told me that  they would refund the 39,99 due to the change of plans, adobe told me that this process would take an average of 5 business days. However i noticed that i was charged an extra 39,99 for no reason at all, i dont understand where this charge comes from. Basically i was charged 39,99 because Adobe renewed my suscription since its the first of the month, plus the 19,99 i payed for the change of plans and the promise i would get a refund of the previous payment (39,99) , plus charging me an extra 39,99 which i dont know where they come from, making it a total charge of 99,97 dollars, which is insane. I need help, if someone has any information on how to get this fixed i would greatly appreciate it.
