I want to cancel my subscription which I've had for over 3 years, and I am being charged $72.46. Why is this so?

If you cancel the subscription in the middle of the ongoing contract you will be charged a cancellation fee. We would suggest you to cancel while your subscription is due for renewal. You will get a renewal email.

It's a horrific scam - I don't know any other system where when you pay monthly, for years, you still get charged a cancellation fee. I'm being charged £109.82 to cancel a monthly subscription I've had for three years. You also can't turn of auto renewal. So it's set a massive alert for a few months in the future or pay the hefty fine now. AND you don't even get access for those months you're paying for. I'm furious about this.

but you can appeal to adobe support. there are 2 ways to contact adobe support; chat and twitter (now x):

chat:
if you have or want to purchase a subscription, use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

When you cancel after the renewal and before the end of the year you pay 1/2 of the remaining time
