Question

Cancellation of photoshop renewal subscription fee after expiry date

Hi all,

I want to stop the auto-renewal subscription fee from trying to charge my payment account but there's no option in the "edit billing plan" or "manage plan" section to stop the process. It keeps charging everyday 2-3 days but fails due to the fact I dont have money in the payment account because I dont want to keep the subscription going anymore.

If I leave the auto-renew going will it continue to charge my payment account until a set time has passed and then stop, or will it keep going continously until payment is made?

If it does stop after a set time will it lock my adobe account or just stop the renewing charge?

Would deleting my adobe account stop the renewing process from trying to charge my payment account too? and if so, would I incur any kind of fees for not renewing my subscription AND for deleting my adobe account?

Thanks all for any replies

There is no way to opt out of the auto-renewal. If you want to cancel the subscription, you have to go into your account and do so manually. Just refusing to pay won't do it, and Adobe will probably send you to collections if it goes on long enough.

You can also talk to customer support about canceling the subscription. If you cancel in the month prior to the autorenewal date, there is no fee. If you cancel within 14 days after the autorenewal date there is, I believe, no fee. If you cancel after those 14 days, there is a cancellation fee of 1/2 of the remaining subsciption time. So if you have 11 months left, you'll be charged for 5 1/2. It's possible that the CSR might waive the cancellation fee if you explain that you didn't understand how to do it properly, but it's at their discretion and there's no guarantee.

Adobe provides support through the Chat function on the contact page or through a phone call. There is no email support. If someone contacts you by email, it is probably a scammer. Block and report them.

Hi LinSims,

Thanks for your reply and the information. I think as a safe bet I'll just renew the subscription then cancel the day after renewing, as I think also that you don't get charged a fee within 14 days from the date of renewal.

One other question I would like to get some clarification on too if your able to help is, when I cancel the subscription and either get refunded the full or half amount, how does adobe process the payment? Do they refund it into your chosen payment account, which in this case is my paypal account or do they do it via another method?

I should note that I'm also based in Australia if that makes a difference in the process.

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't know. My subscriptions are handled by my employer, and I've never had to cancel one.
