Question

Charged an early termination fee after cancelling on day one. Two subscriptions were created from a single signup.

I signed up for a 7-day free trial on August 8, 2026. After using it, I went into my account and cancelled.

The signup had created two separate subscriptions, but the cancellation flow surfaced one, and cancelling it appeared to end everything. The second subscription stayed active, converted to a paid annual commitment when the trial ended, and I was charged $21.64 on August 30th on a card that I did not provide in the free trial invoice. Cancelling that second plan now triggers an early termination fee of $109.95.

The account records should show this clearly: my original signup invoice lists two subscriptions, and only one is currently active. I'd ask a community manager to check the backend for the cancellation date on the plan I ended. It should be August 8, the same day I signed up.

The points I'd ask someone to weigh:

  1. I acted within hours of starting the trial. This is not a case of forgetting to cancel before a renewal.
  2. The cancellation flow did not indicate that a second commitment remained active, and I was not shown an early termination fee for that second subscription at signup.
  3. The charge was applied to a card I did not enter for this purchase. My bank identified it as a stored network wallet credential rather than the payment method I supplied.
  4. I am unable to remove payment methods from my account. The button does not work and only shows a loading animation even after waiting several minutes for every card I have.

What I'm asking for: the early termination fee waived, the $21.64 charge refunded, and both subscriptions closed with written confirmation.

Happy to provide my order number or account details by private message rather than posting them publicly.

You will need to contact Adobe support to make your case, as nobody here on this forum, including Adobe employees, can issue a refund via the forum.

Adobe support chat disconnected me in the middle of my chat. They do not care.
