Clarification on billing country vs. usage location for Creative Cloud

Hi,

I live in a country where Adobe doesn’t officially sell Creative Cloud subscriptions (Bosnia and Herzegovina), so I’d like to check what’s allowed.

Is it acceptable to create an Adobe account under my own email, but have a friend or relative in a supported country (e.g. Austria or the UK) purchase the subscription using their credit card and billing address—while I’m the only person using the account, on a single machine, under my own login?

Specifically, would Adobe consider this a problem due to the mismatch between billing country and login location, or is this setup generally tolerated if there’s no account sharing or misuse?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

@lightwithoutheat777 I would recommend you avoid accessing our services if they are not offered through a reseller in your country. Our fraud team actively reviews these types of accounts and will disable them. There are also other concerns that may cause us to block access once the type of usage you have been describing is detected.

Please see https://partners.adobe.com/s/directory/channel?lang=en to see if there is a reseller who can help you access our services.

Thanks for the clarification, Jeffrey — I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I’m genuinely trying to understand why this setup would be considered fraud. I would be paying for the subscription regularly, using it personally, and complying with all usage and licensing terms. Nothing would be shared, resold, or misused in any way.

From my perspective, this isn’t about avoiding payment or doing anything illegal — it’s simply a workaround for the fact that Adobe Creative Cloud isn’t officially offered in my country and there is currently no local reseller option available. As a professional creative, it’s frustrating to be effectively locked out of industry-standard tools purely due to regional availability, despite a clear willingness to pay and use everything legitimately.

I’d really appreciate more insight into what specifically triggers fraud concerns in cases like this, because it feels less like abuse and more like a gap in regional access that users are trying to navigate in good faith.

Thanks again for the response and for any further clarification you can share.

Yes, you should wait until it is officially available in your country, @lightwithoutheat777 .

I am sorry, this isn’t a platform for an appeal or to ask that Adobe start offering our services in more countries. Thank you for your interest.

anyone can pay, but they’ll own the account and its files.

I know that, but I don’t care because it’s a friend/family arrangement. I need to know whether Adobe is OK with this, and whether it could be a problem if the account is paid for in one country and used in another (same region, EU).

you won’t get an official ok, but it’s unlikely to be detected.
