Creative Cloud price increase is unfair

Hi,

I just looked at my creative cloud subscription and saw that the monthly price increased by 68%.  How is this fair?  I'm just a hobbiest photographer who has been paying for CC for years with almost no use, and now having to pay significantly more.  Prices are going up everywhere, but not at 68%. I certainly didn't get a 68% increase in my pay.  It's just disgusting what you have done.

Shame on you Adobe.  If you're the sort of company that is willing to bleed people, then I'm no longer willing to support your organisation.   Subscription has been cancelled.  I know my complaint will fall on deaf ears, but if everyone did the same thing, then maybe you'd get the message.

Regards,

Sijmen.

Shivangi,

I'm fully aware of all the improvements made to lightroom over the last few years, and we expect them.  That's why we pay the monthly/annual subscription, so that Adobe has the revenue to continually improve the product.  What I'm angry with, is the sheer greed of Adobe to slap on a 68% increase on monthly pricing,

Now, you've said that switching from monthly to annual is the same price.  That's not true.  I was paying AUD$14,29 x 12 months which comes to AUD$171.48, but the new annual price is AUD$191.93, which is NOT the same.

In addition, when selecting the annual option, it clearly indicates a saving of 33% on "the next 12 month" which raises the question, what happens after 12 months?

Finally, your comment about Adobes commitment to support photographers from enthusiasts to professional is also not true.  Previously Adobe may have been interested in supporting enthusiast photographers, but that does not seem the case now.  For example, my current 20GB plan is no longer offered, meaning only the more expensive plans are on offer.  This is not how you support enthusiasts.  The following link is a perfect example of other hobbiest photographers feeling let down by Adobe.

I've been loyally supporting Adobe for 7 years paying my monthly fee for bundled products I don't use, just so I can occasionally make use of lightroom classic, and now to be slapped with such a significant increase is simply greedy of Adobe, and I won't support Adobe any more. I'm not alone in this. Already youtube photography content providers who previously only used lightroom, are now being asked to see photo editing being done in other free tools.  Over time, as more youtube content like this becomes common place, these other tools will replace lightroom, first as an enthusiasts tool, but then as a professional tool. In the end, Adobes greed will be its undoing.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, @SijmenG.

We are committed to continually improving our plans to meet the needs of all creative users, from enthusiasts to professionals. The Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan has embraced the latest advancements in digital imaging and continues to be a powerful solution for editing, organizing, storing, and sharing images for anyone interested in photography.

Since its launch over a decade ago, the Photography plan (20GB) has maintained its competitive pricing, all the while expanding to include highly sought-after apps like Lightroom for mobile, Photoshop for iPad and the web, among others.

Recent additions to your membership include tools capabilities like Select SubjectRemove Background, and the Contextual Task Bar in Photoshop and Lens BlurDenoise, and hundreds of Premium Presets in Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. In addition, we are committed to supporting photographers and continuing to innovate across our platform, including Lightroom Classic.

Having said that, I would recommend you to switch to annual prepaid plan. There is no change in pricing for that.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Maybe for you Kglad.  They're charging me AUD$371.84 per year which is significantly more.  What's worse, I'd be paying for things I don't want, such as photoshop and cloud storage, both of which I never use.

I'm absolutely stunned by the greed shown by Adobe.
