Creative Cloud Subscription

My wife want to gift me a 1 year subscription to Creative Cloud but my current subscription doesn't run out for 10 months. Will it just add to my current subscription or can I wait to activate it? It would be purchase via Amazon and doesn't seem to be restricted to new users nor does it explicitly state that it cannot be used to extend current subscriptions?

ie, you can apply the code now (to the same account as your current subscription) and the expiration date of your current plan will be extended by the 1 year redemption.
