Free trial account cancellation failed

I wouldn't believe a company such as Adobe has scammed me out of money... but it has happened.

Back in October last year I signed up for one of those free trials. I wanted to try a specific feature in Acrobat that wasn't in the free version. I can't even remember what it was for and barely even use Free Acrobat.

And I'm certain I cancelled my trial, but 3 months later I notice my credit card is being billed. What's worse, if I cancel I have to pay a massive cancellation fee. It seems I've unwittingly signed up for a 'discounted' 1 year account.

I had NO emails notifying me that my trial had ended. I had NO emails with invoices for those payments.

And no email address at which to complain about this, just one of those chat windows.

What Adobe?

I just had a similar experience.  I cancelled my "trial subscription" literally the day that I signed up for it (a week ago) and last night I received a charge of $19.99 plus tax from Adobe.  To add insult to injury, I called Adobe on their 1-800 line and the phone conversation was very painful (the connection was very bad and I had to talk to two different people).

Is this a common business practice for Adobe?  Seems rather unethical.

contact adobe support.  there are 3 ways to contact adobe; chat, phone and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies, and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

phone:
https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-community/td-p/12919684/redirect_from_archived_page/true
