Having to sign in to view PDF file on my computer

I subscribe to a trial from adobe. I cancel it because it didn't do want I wanted. My subscription was up on May 1, 2024. I was trying to open one of my PDF files to review some information and I couldn't open it without signing into adobe. Why would I need to sign in when I have never had to before. All I did is save a pdf file or read a pdf file. I don't use anything else and it does state my subscrition was canceled. This is a real pain to sign in everytime I want to look at a pdf file. Is there anything that I can do to stop this?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I am trying to cancel my subscription as well because it's not doing what I want it to do.  I still can't open the PDF files.  This is frustrating!!!

make sure you're aware of the cancellation terms by selecting your plan type (at the top of the page here), https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html

for info on how to cancel your subscription, this page describes the few steps involved, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html

if you want to cancel but are unable to follow the steps described in the "how to cancel page", contact adobe support.

there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter (now x):

    chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies, and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

    twitter/x:
    tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.
