Help: need to assume spouse’s Photoshop license due to his blindness

Not sure who to reach out to here... my husband beat leukemia but it greatly diminished his sight. He can no longer use a computer, his Mac, since he cannot enlarge type enough to read. He no longer uses the Photoshop app in that computer.

I want to take over his account and install Photoshop on my newer Mac.

How do we go about doing this? I may need to reach directly to Adobe, but I thought maybe someone here might give me a starting point...

Thanks...

    Hi @BarbaraBCG,

Unless your husband has a paid Creative Cloud subscription, this may be a moot point.

    • Which version of Photoshop?
    • Which operating system do you have (please be specific)?

NOTE 1: Pre-CS4 versions cannot be re-installed because the activation servers were retired several years ago.

NOTE 2: Creative Suite cannot run much less install on Mac Catalina or Big Sur.  You will need an older compatible OS and computer to run older software.

    Thanks, Nancy and all,

This is helpful to know... I guess we just need to cancel his subscription on that computer, at least that sounds most straightforward... and I'm wondering if I can even use a Photoshop on my new Mac now, too? Guess I better keep the old machine running until this all gets sorted!

    Thanks for the replies!

Subscription software is updated to run on new computers... depending on just how new your Mac is you may have "some" problems, but everything will eventually work

SOME Adobe programs are compatible with Apple's BS, but they may have issues

You will need to reach Adobe directly. You should start by knowing that the license terms are not transferable.

This is a public forum, you need the link to Adobe support, not other users, to transfer an account (if that is even possible)
Be sure to remain signed in with your Adobe ID before accessing the link
Do be aware that Adobe's staffing is impacted by the virus, so wait times are long
-make sure that your browser does NOT block ads, scripts, or pop-ups
-you must also allow 'cookies' in your web browser for the link to work
This link will go directly to the chat option
Type "Agent" in the chat box to bypass the chatbot and be connected to a person
-Meaning type in the word Agent without the quote " " marks
