How can I cancel my subscription that I can't afford?

I can no longer afford the subscription I tried to cancel but it’s saying it’s still going to charge me for early cancellation! I wanted to get the cancellation fee waived so I can later come back to it once I can offered it again!

Thank you for posting to the community, Admired_Twinkle.

I understand how frustrating it is to want to cancel a subscription due to affordability concerns and then face an early cancellation fee.

I reviewed the account associated with your community profile and found an active Creative Cloud Pro subscription that began on May 6, 2026. Because the plan is still active and within its annual commitment term, an early cancellation fee may apply when canceling before the commitment period ends.

If you have not already done so, please review Adobe's cancellation terms here:

If you believe the fee should be waived due to your circumstances, you'll need to contact us directly to discuss any available options:

    Hi @Precious_Zephyr81db

We checked the email address used to post your query, but we couldn't find any active Adobe subscription associated with it. To help us investigate further, please repost your query using the email address linked to the Adobe account used for the purchase.

For your privacy and security, please do not share personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or transaction information in this public forum.

If you're not sure which Adobe account was used, you can use Adobe's Charge Finder tool to identify the subscription associated with the charge:

Hope this helps, let us know if you face any other issues.

TO CANCEL WITHOUT PAYING THE YEARLY FEE PENALTY: In “manage account” change your plan to any other plan (it doesn’t matter which but good to choose the cheapest one available just in case). The window to cancel the plan for free (14 days) is reset as this change of plan is treated as a new subscription/contract agreement, and you can just immediately cancel the new plan for free. You will even get money back from what was already charged from your previous subscription.

     Hi @defaultn1t02op1yddk ,

We just want to add an important clarification for anyone who may come across this post.

While Adobe allows eligible customers to change their plans, the official documentation does not indicate that changing a plan resets the 14-day cancellation/refund period. Adobe's cancellation terms refer to 14 days from the initial purchase, and cancellation charges may apply after that period depending on the type of subscription.

Additionally, when a plan is changed, Adobe states that the previous plan is cancelled and a refund may be provided where applicable, rather than guaranteeing a refund of previous payments.
For this reason, we wouldn't recommend using a plan change as a method to avoid an applicable cancellation fee.

Please refer to these articles for clarity:

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
