Question

How can I request a refund for a charge made after I canceled my subscription on the first day of my free trial?

I started the 7-day free trial, but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me and I didn’t like the system. I canceled the trial that same night, and I even have the confirmation email stating that the cancellation was completed.

However, when the billing date arrived, I was still charged the $19 monthly fee. Honestly, I’m very frustrated because if someone cancels their subscription during the free trial, they shouldn’t be charged afterward.

Could someone please help me understand how I can request a refund? I would really appreciate it if you could provide me with an email address or contact information for someone who can assist me with this issue.

Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out, @Spirited_thinkerd960, and I appreciate your detailed response!

I reviewed the information associated with your account and found two separate subscriptions.

The AI Assistant for Acrobat trial that started on July 16, 2026, was successfully canceled on July 17, 2026, during the trial period. However, there is also an Acrobat Pro subscription that started on July 24, 2026, and remained active until it was canceled today.

Because the Acrobat Pro plan was active beyond the trial period, the recent charge and any applicable cancellation terms would be associated with that subscription rather than the AI Assistant trial.

For more information about Adobe's cancellation and refund policies, please see: Adobe subscription terms and cancellation policies

If you believe the Acrobat Pro subscription was created unintentionally or the charge was made in error, please get in touch with us directly so that your account history can be reviewed and any available refund options can be discussed: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen

Please update this public discussion thread if you have any additional questions, @Spirited_thinkerd960.

Hi Randy, thank you very much for your help. I’m from Guatemala, and unfortunately, I’m unable to call that number from here.

Do you happen to know if there is another contact number or any other way I could reach Adobe Customer Service from Guatemala? Or is there anything else you would recommend I do to request my refund?

    I really appreciate your support!

Calling is the best option, but failing that, here’s the general English language Adobe support contact page. Hopefully you’ll find something in here that will work for you:

Hi Randy, I just tried to cancel the plan through my Adobe account, and it is telling me that I would be charged a $109.95 early cancellation fee.

This is extremely frustrating because I canceled the plan on the very first day of my free trial, and I have the confirmation email from Adobe showing that my cancellation was successfully completed.

I don’t understand why Adobe is now showing that I still have an active annual commitment and wants to charge me a cancellation fee when I have proof that I canceled from the beginning.

Honestly, this is very disappointing service. I just want the subscription to remain canceled without any additional charges and, most importantly, I would like the $19.99 charge that was already taken from my card to be refunded.

Is there anything you can recommend I do to resolve this? I can provide the cancellation confirmation email as proof.

    Thank you for your help.

If you’re in the US, you can start by calling Adobe Customer service here:

    800-585-0774

If you’re not in the US, you may have another number in your country or region to call. But this is a good place to start.

    Hope this helps,
