how do i cancel the trial version

Question

I have downloaded the free trial version of illustrator and indicated my payment details. The trial version expires today and I cannot deactivate it (the system says: There was a problem with the PayPal payment details)
I tried to get help through the adobe page, but they don't answer.
I need to cancel immediately. I can't afford the cost.
What I have do?

I've looked at the FAQs but the system doesn't give me the option to cancel.

-click the chat icon at the bottom right of the page to open a chat session
-the chat icon looks like '3 dots inside a circle' at the lower right
-type AGENT into the chat window to connect directly to a person rather than the AI
Do be aware that Adobe's staffing is impacted by the virus, so wait times are long
