Is there a lite version of CC for use at home?

Often I will need to take work home. There, I only use PS and Audition, but the CC overarching software bogs down my system. Is there a lite version, or a way to minimize it for this purpose?

You still need a high end system either way. If you meet the Photoshop recommended system requirements it shouldn't bog down.

No matter what Adobe CC software you use, you will still need to install the CC app.
