Question

Motherboard failure and installation of CS6 on HD into new desktop

Hello,

I own a CS6 Design and Web Premium, which was an upgrade that I bought to go from 5.5 in Dec of 2013. My motherboard failed on my PC so pulled the hardrive and tried using it as a slave on my new computer. I went to install with the Serial # and it is asking me for the 5.5 serial which I do not have.
My CS6 upgrade is registered with Adobe as I purchased it directly from them and downloaded it. But my CS5.5 that was on my hard drive was never registered, of course I deleted CS5.5 after the CS6 installation as back then HD space was at a premium.
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Bob

If you never registered your qualifying product, or kept the serial number in a safe place, I'm afraid you are SOL.

If you kept the HD, can't you run existing software from that drive?

No, it doesn't recognize my new computer. I initially tried running it off
my old hard drive. I was hoping some guru could tell me if the 5.5 serial
number is hidden in some registration file in my old pc hard drive.
SOL I suppose.

Lost information https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/Find-serial-number-without-Adpbe-ID/td-p/7769446
- page has links to programs to find an installed serial number in Mac or Windows
- when you find your serial number(s) write them down and put in a desk drawer
