Actually, a month-to-month plan has never been the default. You must choose that option manually at the time of signing up for a new subscription. And that option automatically costs you 50% more money per month than the actual default option, which is an annual plan paid monthly. And Adobe has effectively discouraged subscribers from choosing the month-to-month plan by charging you much higher monthly costs - in your case, €45 per month instead of €30 per month. That makes the month-to-month plan more expensive overall than the annual plan paid monthly, even when cancellation fees are added to the latter, especially after six months of being a subscriber.

The other option is an annual plan, prepaid.

Thus, if you do not choose anything, the "annual plan paid monthly" will always be the default option.

In other words, the default plan option is always the one with the lowest upfront (initial) cost.
