My purchased copy of Acrobat Standard 2020 doesn't show under My Account. How do I get it re-instated so that I can deactivate & reactivate ?

In 2020 I purchase a copy of Acrobat Standard 2020 & installed it on my new Laptop. I believe that I registered it at the time.
I have now reset my Laptop & have installed from the original files provided. Using the Serial No also provided at the time.

When I try to register it again, I keep getting asked to login to Adobe website to continue, which I do & have updated my password.

However I keep getting asked to login to the website to continue.

I have looked & found that the website is notshowing my Purchase copy, so I reckon that is preventing me from deactivating & reactivating.

Please help.

    Hi BaniVerma,

Thanks for your response & assistance. Please see information following.

    1. I have used only two E-Mail addresses over the last 15 years. I have logged in to the Registered products section in the last few hours using both, (separately), & have entered the Serial No. & have received the same response, “This Serial No is already in use.”
    2. I purchased Acrobat Standard 2020 from an Australian Software reseller, (Softvire), & the first Serial No they provided didn’t work so I called them, & received a second Serial No.
I did also try my first Serial No. in a registered Products search & received the same “already in use” response.
    3. Before the Reset of W11 on my computer, & the non-ability to re-activate Acrobat, I wasn’t aware that I should have de-activated before Resetting. On reading a little I came to the understanding that I should be able to de-activate & then re-activate after the event.
    4. I have attached Snips showing each of the 5 steps I take to try to register the installation.
At Step 5 nothing else happens. There is nothing on that which takes me further. If I close the Tab or Logout, I go back to Step 1.
    5. My Computer is an Acer Aspire A515 which I bought new in 2020 immediately before buying & loading Acrobat Standard 2020. It was originally running W10 & I upgraded to W11 in the last few years when it became available.
    6. I bought Acrobat Standard, because I didn’t need the fancy features of Pro version, & it servied me fine all of the time. It did everything I needed.
I am now mostly retired, am 80 years old, & don’t see that I will need anything more than reinstatement/activation of my owned version of Acrobat Standard, in my small amount of work, or for my private use.

    Thanks again for your help,

    Peter House

    Hi kglad,

Thanks for your question & interest.

No. I haven’t had any trials or Subscriptions.

Also I have done resets on my Computer to get rid of previous Employment Access & Apps which had slowed startup & operation to less than a crawl.

    Hi @Gleeful_youth5C9E,

Thank you for reaching out, and we understand how frustrating it is to be locked out of software you already paid for, especially right after getting your laptop set up again.

To make sure we understand correctly: you reinstalled Acrobat Standard 2020 using your original serial number after resetting your laptop, but you're stuck in a sign-in loop, and when you check your Adobe account, the purchase doesn't appear there either.

A few things worth checking on your end:

Registered products. Sign in to https://adobe.ly/4cOBc9q using the exact Adobe ID (email address) you used when you originally purchased and registered Acrobat Standard 2020, then look under the Registered products section. This is where your serial number and purchase would normally be listed. If you've used more than one email with Adobe over the years, it's worth checking each one.

Before the reset. Were you able to open Acrobat and choose Help > Deactivate before resetting the laptop, or did the reset happen without that step? Acrobat Standard 2020 is a non-subscription license, and it can be activated on up to two computers at a time, which helps clarify where things stand.

It would also help to know:

    • The exact wording or error code shown when the sign-in loop happens (a screenshot would help)

    • Whether this happens inside the Acrobat application itself or on the Adobe website

    • Your operating system (Windows or Mac)

One thing worth knowing: Acrobat 2020 (Standard and Pro) officially reached End of Support on November 30, 2025. The steps above show what we can offer for this product, so please share what you find, and we'll help however we can within that scope.

    Thanks,
    ^BS
