Question

Photography Plan; What Happens When I Delete?

In the Photography Plan, I've been paying $9.99 for years.  Apparently, this entitles me to 18 apps and 20GB of Cloud Storage.  The only thing I use is Photoshop a couple times a week.  I do not use the cloud or any other programs.  In other words, I've paid hundreds of dollars for things I don't use over the past few years.

All I need is Photoshop.  If I delete my subscription, will I lose Photoshop?  If so, how can I get on a plan for Photoshop only at a lower rate?

Thank you in advance,
Mark

The Photography Plan is a deeply discounted bundle of apps & services.  If you buy a la carte, you pay more.  So there is no discount beyond what you already have for Photoshop CC.

Creative Cloud Photography Plan includes the following:

  • Photoshop CC and Photoshop on iPad
  • Lightroom on desktop, mobile and the web
  • Lightroom Classic
  • Portfolio website + hosting
  • Creative Cloud Express (free starter plan)
  • Bridge
  • 20 GB cloud storage (upgradable to 1 TB).

Photoshop Elements (approx $100, no subscription needed). Elements is consumer-grade software for casual users who don't need all the bells & whistles in pro-level Photoshop CC

Nancy,

Thank you.  I am a fulltime professional photographer.  So, I appreciate that there is more stuff in this plan, but it's stuff I don't want or need.

Elements isn't up to my needs.  As I mentioned to the two Johns above, I used to buy Photoshop as a stand alone product.  At this point, I have paid more than what the program used to cost, and these fees are going on in perpetuity. The bottomline is, I have no choice.

Thanks again,

Mark

Adobe doesn't sell software anymore except Elements.   And I question how much longer that will be sustained.

There are other options, although most are medicore compared to Photoshop.

Can you point us to the URL which gave you that impression?

John W.,

I stand corrected.  The 18 apps was mentioned before selecting my plan for Photography.  But, as I mentioned to the other John, in the past, I would buy the stand alone program, which would have been paid for a couple years ago at this rate.

I use Capure One from Phase One for image capture and RAW conversion because Adobe was a couple years late in allowing teathered capture.  I'm sure I could transition, but the difference is I own Capture One, and with this Adobe program, I would never actually own Lightroom or any of those other programs I have no use for.

Stop paying and the program stops working

>how can I get on a plan for Photoshop only at a lower rate?

Photoshop alone is $20 per month... the special plan IS the lowest rate

OR buy Photoshop Elements for a one time fee http://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html

John,
Thank you for the clarification.  I've been using using Photoshop since I had to boot up DOS in order to launch Windows 3.  In the old days, you could purchase.  I'm not a fan of the subscription.  PS used to cost $400-500.  Now, I've spent more than that with this "discounted subscription".
