Question

Security with a student account

I just started a student account, and since then I've been receiving numerous emails for verification codes. This is not me requesting them.

I cannot figure out how to add an extra layer of security to me account. It's connected through Google (our school uses a Gmail server), and I don't seem to have a way to add a password, or 2fa. Any time I try and get support, it tells me to contact me school directly. But honestly, this seems like a pretty bunk answer when it comes to a security issue.

I'm just wondering if there is so.ething I can do here, or if I really do need to reach out to my school? And would that just be me reaching out to IT, or something more specific?

Yes, reach out to your IT. Most likely this is caused by someone with a similar user ID who is continually mistyping it. With 2FA, you will need to type in a 6-digit security code that is sent to you.

why can't you add 2fa?  is your school blocking it?

I honestly don't know, but none of the instructions for adding it seem to work for me.
