Is there any way of getting off the annual subscription after already being paid for a year. It's moved onto a second and without asking me to renew and payment has increased. I'm a student who cannot afford the monthly payments or cancellation fee.

Please help me.

the info given by @John T Smith  is correct, but adobe support has been reported to sympathize with customers and help them in situations like yours, despite not being obligated to help.  ie, follow @Peru Bob's advice.

First the price rise is according to the agreement you signed - One Year Intro Price https://community.adobe.com/t5/account-payment-plan-discussions/why-is-my-account-now-31-a-month-and-not-the-20/td-p/8862330

Second - the agreement you signed (click to agree) is for the subscription to renew automatically
