Switch Secondary email to Primary email

Hello Community,

Due to constant spam, I will be deleting my primary email in the near future. For convenience I would like to replace it with my secondary email. However if I try to change my primary email by typing in my secondary email, I am notified that this email is already used and therefore cannot change it. Any ideas on how to change it?
