Time to Retire

I have been a Adobe subscriber since Illustrator came out in 1988. I have also subscribed to Creative cloud since it has been offered. I am retiring soon and do not wish to pay the monthly fees for Creative Cloud. If I cancel my subscription can I still use the last version of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc to open any files I have created over the last decade or do these programs no longer work. How does this work or what is the workaround. I feel I should be grandfathered in and allowed to use the last versions downloaded. Can someone answer this question, it would be much appreciated.

That's what I figured. However I supported Adobe for 37 years, buying programs, updating licenses, and supporting Creative Cloud Apps. Doesn't it bother anyone that there is no alternative to this issue. Designers worldwide will face the same issue I am having at some time in their career. What will you do with all the files you have that someday you may want to re-visit and you no longer cannot open the file. Years ago you purchased the software on the disk and were able to use that program for as long as you wanted. Updates were additional but not mandatory.

there are others that feel the same way you feel. but none of us (afaik) have an impact on the decision makers. ie, you're far from the first to post here about this.

but this is not an effective forum to influence adobe corp. whether there is something more effective, i don't know.
