Unable to pause subscription

I am not new to lightroom but I am new to this subscription plan. I am so upset by this, that I want to find another software to use. 

I signed up for the "annual" monthly plan" because that is all I could afford.  I thought there would have been a "PAUSE" feature. 

I love photography but I am not a professional. Its a hobby.  So at times I do not use lightroom for months.  After my last project, I dropped my lens (well it fell over) and damaged it.  I cannot use it right now and cannot afford to fix it right now. 

I cannot PAUSE my subscription because it doesnt allow you too and if I cancel I get charged for the rest of the year.  Can we ever own anything? So if i want to do photography I must pay for this forever!!!! 

 I bought the last stand alone version years ago but had no choice to use this because its so bogged down.  Does anyone else feel this way?  Does anyone have other software they can recommend?  I just cannot afford to pay for this forever.  Sorry for the vent.

They also should have a feedback section or complaints department because This is ridiculous. I cannot email feedback, I cannot complain about it.

adobe's subscription model doesn't work for everyone, but for lr there's no other option.

You are right it doesn't, but they are alienating a lot of people then.
If it's only meant for professionals who earn a living, then they should
think about all the people who do this as a hobby.
The greed of companies today. I would rather buy the stand alone program
and pay for updates for updates every couple of years with purchase of
another standalone. That is what I used to do.

I had brand loyalty. Not no more. It may not be a big deal to most
people, but it is to me. It is just another thing on the long list of
greedy companies wanting us to pay every month for everything.
