Why are the prices for the packages different when checking out?

I am trying to purchase a subscription for Photoshop but the disparity in prices is very confusing. I am shown one price on the plans website but when i click buy, the price doubles or even triples sometimes.

Someone please explain this to me.

The price of Photoshop before clicking the buy button.

After clicking buy on photoshop alone.

Thank you for posting to this public discussion forum, @Clark5C46.

I apologize for any confusion in the purchase process.

You mentioned in this post that you are in Uganda, but when you created your account, it was set to Belgium. You also mentioned that the website is trying to direct you to change your region. If you have been browsing our prices in three different countries/regions, then that could explain the price difference, @Clark5C46.

Are you using a VPN or other service that is changing your GEO location, @Clark5C46?

If you don’t live in Belgium, then I would encourage you to cancel your new subscription using the steps listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/account/individual/subscriptions-and-plans/renewals-and-cancellations/cancel-adobe-subscription.html.

Once the subscription is canceled, you can then complete the steps listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/change-country-associated-with-adobe-id.html to change the country to Uganda as part of the purchase process.

Please update this public discussion thread if you have any additional questions, @Clark5C46.

Conversion rates plus regional fees & taxes are applied.  Those are out of Adobe’s control.

@Clark5C46

If you have questions about the amount of VAT, you might post to the Account, Payment, & Plan forum:

https://community.adobe.com/account-payment-plan-4

I have one more question: you said “currently” from Uganda, which might mean that you were in another country previously. Does your billing information match where you are living? You don’t have to answer here, but that’s useful information to include when you post to the Account, Payment, & Plan forum.

EDIT: Staff has moved your thread from Photoshop to the Account, Payment, & Plan forum. You don’t need to repost.

@Clark5C46

I’m not sure, but I noticed that your first screen shows USD, and your second one converts to your currency. Value Added Tax is also added in your second screenshot. Do you know how much that is in your country?

It’s not the exchange rate Jane.  US$9.19 converts to €7.16

Photoshop alone is showing as NZ$44.51 here, which converts to €22.74 which is a lot closer to the €26.43 the OP’s screen shot shows.  Local taxes would account for the difference.

So thew question now is, where did that screenshot come from?  I notice it says ‘minus VAT’.  If the OP is in Ireland then the price would 23% higher, by example.

@Clark5C46 where are you posting from?

@Trevor.Dennis I am posting from Uganda currently and i was given a notification to change region to Africa on the website which i did. This was before the general pricing page showing Photoshop at $9.19.

If the reason for the increase is local taxes, then that is a significant increase.
