Adobe license doesn't recognize my computer after adding another HDD

After adding another HDD (8TB) to my pc, Adobe does recognize my desktop computer (I also have a laptop activated). The new drive replaced an old drive that was alreading cleaned and unformated. So I guess I'll have to deactivate my current computer and then activate it again. No biggie, but why would a small hardware change trigger this?

any significant hardware change (eg, adding a new hard drive) will cause your computer to be recognized as a new one.  the one recognized prior to the hard ware change no longer exists so when signing in to your "new" computer you will be give the opportunity to sign out from a previously used computer to sign out.  chose the one that no longer exists.

Sorry. "doesn't recongize my desktop" not "does".

Just deactivate the one computer and activate it again. You don't need to uninstall anything. If Adobe sees it as a new device, you can try to argue your point, but I've never won an argument with my computer. 😊
