CC desktop app does not show all files

Sometimes when I open my desktop app on my mac there are only a handful of files listed. If I click "open sync folder" and pull up a browser view, I can then see all of the files. But from there I can't open them in my apps and work on them (on my ipad or computer). Where are they going and how can I reset or sync this?

in the sync folder, click double click the file and it will open with whatever you assigned as the default opening app.  and you can always right click a file and click open with.. to select exactly the app you wan to use to open a file.
