Changing Email to Deleted Account Email

Hey everyone, I had two Adobe accounts, one that is active and one that I deleted. The one that is active is linked to my student email, however; I am no longer a student. 

I wanted to change the email of my active student email account to the email I used for my deleted account (my personal email). 

Whenever I try to change the email it says that it has already been used, even though that account is deleted.

Does anyone know a way around this?
