Create Cloud Desktop App Window Crashes

I have a Windows 11 computer where the Create Cloud Desktop app opens, but closes the window immediately. Updates and the installation of Lightroom work, but only in the background. After a while the update appears.

 

I first tried to repair the app. It does, but the window still closes immediately. Then I tried the Cleaner software by Adobe which wiped all my Adobe apps. I then reinstalled the Create Could Desktop, but the issue remains. I could reinstall Lightroom and Photoshop in the background.

 

Is there any way to fix this?

Hi @ReneGrothmann , if the steps @kglad mentioned don't work, can you generate a log file (details in link below)? The utility will upload the log file to Adobe in the last step. Once uploaded, can you DM me the name of the log file so we can look at it?

The tips above are only a copy of the pages I already know and tried. As said, I am on Windows 11. The simple reason seems to be that the installed version of Creative Cloud Desktop does not work on the Windows API of my Windows 11 computer. The program works surprisingly, but does not display the window, or I cannot see it. I have another Windows 11 computer (laptop) where the Desktop works.

 

By the way, it is impossible to select a specific Creative Cloud Desktop version. You should know that, I think. The download will automatically start an installer.

 

As long as the updates of my apps work, I can live with that issue.

if you followed my suggestions you would see that you can select (with limits) the cc desktop version.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R


if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html


if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging and then reinstall using*


if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.
