I got this error message. Since it looks like Adobe has discontinued any kind of support, I'm in here trying to find out how to fix it.

Using Windows 10 OS.

Adobe Creative Cloud Version 5.9.0.372

Creative Cloud UI Helper exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xe0000008) occurred in the application at location 0x00007FFB711ECD29.

Creative Cloud did an update a couple of days ago. It said it was something to do with RAW images or files.

Correct answer kglad

that's a window's error.  i wouldn't recommend a simple reinstall, though you could try it.  you should use a clean reinstall following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired.

update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud

if you're unable to download the cc desktop app at this stage, use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thank you kglad

Especially for the step by step instructions.

Thank you for including links for most steps as well.

But you lost me at

repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired.

update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated

I figure if it  gets to that point, it should be someone else doing it. I do know that C++ is a programming language, but that's it.

I was able to Chat with Anthony from Adobe Tech Support - there was one page I found with a chat button, so I used it.

He accessed my computer and in 5 minutes he had it fixed.

He went to the arrow with extra task bar icons and CC Desktop was there but it was blank when he clicked on it.

He went behind the scenes somewhere and next thing it's done and fixed.

Thank you for such a quick and detailed response.
