Creative Cloud Update Error 191

Hello all,

I encounter an error (0xc000007b) trying to open all versions of Photoshop I can install from Creative Cloud Desktop. When searching online, I see this error is related to C++ runtime library dependencies.

I am running on a Windows ARM architecture Surface Pro X with the Microsoft SQ1 processor. I have tried following instructions in forum posts installing various C++ runtime libraries to no avail, but I highly suspect that most forum responses will not apply to me, because of ARM architecture. Therefore, I imagine it is fairly important to be updated to the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop, and then I can go from there.

When trying to update Creative Cloud Desktop (not Adobe XD), I get an error code 191. Here is the relevant log output from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Install.log. I have tried all solutions here or they do not apply to me.

Info log output:

FATAL: Error (Code = 191) executing in command 'AddUWPAppxCommand' for package: 'KANC-mul', version:3.0.1.1
FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: KANC-mul Version: 3.0.1.1). Error code: '191'
ERROR: hdhelper exe at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\HDBox\HDHelper.exe failed to install UWP app with error code -1073740791 - OS Message:

(the line after above is a new warning 'Aborting read on pipe 000...'. There is no error listed after the dashed lines)

Correct answer kglad

only if you have win 11:

  1. Open Settings: Press Windows + I or click the Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Go to System → then click Storage.
  3. Scroll down and select Advanced storage settings.
  4. Click Where new content is saved.
  5. Use the dropdown menus to choose the C: drive for:
    • New apps
    • New documents
    • New music
    • New photos and videos
    • New movies and TV shows
  6. Click Apply after making your selections.

and you may need to restart your computer for any changes to take effect.  then install or update (whichever is triggering the  191 error) your cc desktop app.

kglad, I have no idea.

When I search for the errorcode, I found a message, saying it is an installation- or update error.

I tried reinstalling Creative Cloud Desktop, and all versions of Photoshop, and Lightroom. Nothing changed.

Do you have an idea?

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution for this? Because mine has just given me this error tonight, and I cannot get it to update my programs.
