Duplicate Creative Cloud Folder - Unable to delete

Hi,

I seem to have a duplicate creative cloud folder that I am unable to remove/delete. I have tried signing out of Creative Cloud as well as ending all the processes I can see for Adobe but it still stays there. When I try double clicking on the folder an error shows, this is attached but my email address has been removed, not sure what the other numbers and letters are for, some sort of unique identifier (just incase I have blurred some of the info)?

How can I delete this as it's annoying having this on my desktop.

Thanks

Correct answer mattm3

you're welcome.

Just to update you... I resolved the issue by using the following https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/creative-cloud/kb/remove-cc-files-folder-shortcut-navigation-panel.html

Once I ran the remove tool, I restarted Windows Explorer and was then able to delete the file.

Do you mean to uninstall Creative Cloud and all apps, then re-install it?

before you get to that you could try:

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails and you have windows, open your control panel > add/remove programs > cc desktop app > repair

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials>

if that fails, you probably have a corrupt user account. google your os and how to create a new one.

I tried all of that and unfortunately the folder is still there. I'll just have to live with it.

Thanks for the help

you could try iobit's uninstaller but i don't think your problem is large enough to justify the risk.  but if you decide differently, back up your data and be prepared to reset your computer to it's new state.

I wasn't no, I usually use LockHunter to unlock files but this one doesn't even give me an option to delete.

that's one of iobit's apps that can be tried.  after unlocking you still weren't able to delete it?

I tried using iobit unlocker but that unfortunately didn't work if that is the porgram you're referring to?

i don't know how that file would have been created.  but if you have all your cc sync folder files secured, you can probably delete it using iobit's free file remover.

In the image it's "Creative Cloud Files email address and then ####@#####.e"

in your blurred image is that, Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID> (for example: Creative Cloud Files Personal Account email@abc.com ####@AdobeID).
