Error code 190 updating Creative Cloud Desktop

This issue is affecting a vast number of users, and numerous threads are popping up about it. I find it appalling that certain community 'experts' with moderator privileges have so far provided only vague, frustrating answers and, when faced with basic objections and requests for concrete feedback, have unilaterally locked entire posts.

I am not here to argue. I am 50 years old and have been a professional in the visual communication field for 30 years. I am a lecturer at major academies, an educational coordinator, and an instructional designer. Every year I train hundreds of students, and I need to understand whether we should abandon teaching Adobe software and transition toward the newer, now mature products available on the market.

It is completely unacceptable to receive this kind of treatment after spending decades training entire generations of Adobe users. In this specific case, Windows 10 remains an extremely reliable operating system - in some respects far more stable than Windows 11 - and we are talking about just a single generation gap, not backward compatibility with Windows 98. At the same time, many users cannot afford to buy new workstations simply because their current hardware doesn't support the upgrade to Windows 11. The economy has gone wild, computer component prices have skyrocketed, and enforcing such a drastic corporate policy at this time strikes me as senseless and disrespectful.

Therefore, I ask once again: should I start proposing training paths based on alternative software to the academies and retire the Adobe Suite?

I would also like to point out another important aspect of this issue.

Although Adobe has not published any clear, centralized communication about a broader phase-out of Windows 10 across Creative Cloud, several official system-requirement pages have recently been updated and now show Windows 11 as the minimum supported operating system for the current versions of a number of applications.

    The applications currently affected include:

At the same time, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Creative Cloud Desktop still officially list Windows 10 as supported.

This makes the current Error 190 issue even more relevant: Adobe appears to be progressively moving parts of the Creative Cloud ecosystem to Windows 11, but the transition is not being communicated in a clear and consistent way across products.

A clear official statement from Adobe about the Windows 10 support roadmap for Creative Cloud would therefore be extremely useful.

Been dealing with the same issue and my laptop well exceeds the minimum requirements. I never even gave it any thought this could have been a bug because I’m still running Windows 10 Pro. If it is, then I’ll be moving on to other alternatives. I have no intentions of updating to Windows 11.

I have this issue but Windows 10 22H2 (which I’m on) and 21H2 are seemingly still supported according to the link below the hence this has to be a bug, right?

it’s a problem, but it’s resolution still isn’t clear.  hopefully, adobe will redo the components that need/check for win 11 and make them compatible with your win 10.  otoh, eventually the specs will require win 11.

And in the future the specs will require Windows 12 but that’s not really relevant yet. :)

I’m paying for a product which clearly says my OS version is supported yet me and many others get an error saying that it isn’t supported so… Clearly Adobe needs to either update their article to say W10 isn’t supported anymore or just fix the issue.

Also, communication is important. Just a “Yes, we’re aware” would suffice.

Having worked at several large enterprise tech cos, I don’t blame @kglad...doing what they can pass along info trickled out. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’ve seen entire high-level team switch on a dime to make changes the LT came up with in their sleep. Not a fun environment. Stake-holder driven and all these cos are in ‘lockstep’ to please shareholders, not necessarily the customer.

Adobe has lost the plot and me as a long-time user as well. I will be done with them & MSFT on the PC side at the end of the year. If I were you @Dar7, I’d start adding other apps/softwares to your training now and then once Adobe has completed their Win10 OS dump, you can pivot and focus on the other apps. Diversification has always been key. I won’t be moving to Win11, so end of the line for me.

I just opened Premiere Pro with a little message that said this is the last version supported on Win10. Ha...what a load of shiz.

Funny, as I still get Adobe Surveys and I’m blunt with the status of their software, attitude and the general malaise that is behind what they do (I’m talking about leadership).

    Buh bye Adobe 👎🏼🤡
