I pay for full adobe package and over the last year I have had problems opening, using and closing the following - Indesign, Illustrator, photoshop and Acrobat

I use an iMac and OS is always up to date, I always update the Adobe products straight away.

I can open let’s say Indesign, but then it takes forever to load and I have to force quit, repair creative cloud desktop and restart machine, then when restarting Adobe it often says things are taking longer than they should to open, restart Adobe - I go round in circles!

What’s your macOS version, what iMac model and how much RAM do you have? Also, repairing the Creative Cloud app itself is unlikely to affect InDesign’s behavior.

Also, try resetting your preferences and caches:

    Hi @valeriepalmer,

    We appreciate you reaching out.

Could you share your system specifications(OS version, RAM, GPU, etc)? For optimum performance it is important for the system to meet recommended technical requirements for the Adobe applications.

    Looking forward to your response.

go to Settings | Privacy and Security | App Management. there’s an entry for Creative Cloud.  make sure that toggle is enabled.

As far as I can see, you simply have an underpowered machine with a weak (by today’s standards) processor and insufficient RAM.

In this case, RAM is the more important component. While Adobe lists 8 GB RAM as the minimum required to run InDesign, in reality it’s barely enough to keep InDesign afloat.

If you attempt to also run Illustrator and Photoshop in addition to InDesign, I’d expect you to get the exact performance you describe. Plus you’re probably running some other processes on your machine, which makes the matter further worse.

8 GB is simply not enough these days to get any kind of efficient performance from Adobe products.
