Question

illustrator and photoshop (latest versions as of today) are not launching.

Both apps stall on the initial splash banner. I go to Activity Monitor (mac), and i see both apps hogging memory -- this is before it loads. Memory is at 128GB needed, so mac stalls it, then i have to force quit, so none actually launch. Anyone else having this issue? It's been working well for the past year until today. other adobe apps open fine, needed under a GB at startup.

Mac OS ventura

Fixed!! Uninstalled all beta apps and Photoshop opens again. I had the same problem. Photoshop got hung up on the start screen and would crash my computer unless I forced quit it through Task Manager.

for others, use the cc desktop app to uninstall (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html)

uninstall all betas

test if problem's resolved

if not, uninstall problematic apps, restart your computer and reinstall the problematic apps.

I had the problem start with me today (Aug 8). Wow, InDesign and Illustrator were crashing at launch and I tried everything from uninstall to reinstall to delete chache files. Then I deleted the Beta apps as recommended from @kglad that were recently updated and Illustrator and InDesign are back up and running!!! Thank you!
