Synced files: what happens when a hard drive fails?

Let's say I have a synced folder that I have shared with another user.

In the event that my hard drive crashed, what would happen to the files on the Creative Cloud? Would they remain in their pre-crash state?

And what would happen to the files on the other user's system?

Thanks!

Thanks! So the other user sharing the files would be able to use all the synced files, which would be on their computer, just as if nothing had happened?

yes.  the other user would see the same thing they see when your computer is switched off.

Thank you for your reply. I'm using a Mac running Ventura.

The hard drive is the main hard drive for the Mac. It's one where Creative Cloud automatically installed a folder for syncing files: User/Creative Cloud Files

then there would be no sync problem if your hard drive crashed.  ie, all the software used to sync would be on the crashed drive and unable to function.
