Adobe Portfolio for photographer

Adobe Portfolio: I am having trouble creating a new website which I'd like to have a home page with icon, headline, a single portrait orientation photo and text in a justified column to its left.

 

I chose Matthias theme

 

I have tried to eliminate the word WORK from my home page, but each time I click on it, the page format collapses to about 1/3 height, ruining the page. I can not find a panel that would allow me to delete the word.

 

Also, there is a redundant paragraph of copy on the left, which I would like to erase, but can not find a place to do that.
