Question

Adobe support not helping... Creative Cloud not working

I don't know what to do.  Every ounce of my patience has expired ... I spent FIVE HOURS online with Adobe support on Thursday night.  Eventually they said my issue needed to be sent to the "senior trainer" to sort out.  They would give me an update in 24 hours.  They didn't.  I contacted them again. They said to give them another 24 hours.

The thing I contacted them about initially was for help installing updates in Lightroom Classic which I use regularly.  By the end of the five hours, they had uninstalled LRc AND removed our anti-virus software.  And we hadn't even addressed the updates.  I was left WORSE OFF after dealing with them :'(

I haven't been able to deliver on a project for a client.  And I've missed the cut off date for photography club related entries.  I am FURIOUS, but no one is hearing me, I keep getting shrugged off.  The problem appears to be with the Creative Cloud app, it gets jammed up there, so therefore no apps/downloads will actually start through there.  I have done allllll the things advised, uninstalling, reinstalling Creative Cloud etc.  "support" haven't provided me with support.  Can anyone suggest any other options to try?  Thank you.

I'm hunting for somewhere offical to send Adobe a formal complaint.  Do you think I can find it... nope.

@L.Conway,

Sorry for your frustration.  You can update your case from your online support history panel. Log-in below at:

Maybe I'm missing something but assuming your computer meets current Creative Cloud requirements and you can connect with Adobe's servers, I don't see a burning need for updates to use Lightroom Classic.

Look at the CPU & GPU requirements below.  Most CC apps work on

  • Windows 11 (64-bit), Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2, 21H1;
  • MacOS 13 (Ventura), 12 (Monterey), macOS 11 (Big Sur).

Hope that helps.  If not, post back and we'll try exploring other issues.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.
