All my cloud photos are missing after plan was cancelled by company

My company had been paying for my subscription to CC on my personal account where I was doing a lot of company work but also personal work. Tens of thousands of photos. A couple of years ago, CC made me move all my files to the cloud. It was all very confusing but I figured it worked.

Anyways, fast forward to November 2024 - 3 months ago- and the company suddenly closed and we had about a 2 weeks notice. The next week, my plan was cancelled. Life was obviously in a flux so I didn't resubcribe to Lightroom (and Lightroom Classic that are now pacakged together, previously my work had me on the full CC package) until today, January 22, 2025.

Now, when I go into my Lightroom, it says there are no Cloud files. None at all. None that were deleted, zeros all around.

So, my question is, will I ever be able to get my photos back or is my life's colletion of photography lost becase Adobe made me upload all my files and then deleted them?

Thank you!

Just an update: I posted this same question elsewhere in these forums and @Aleke , a staff at Adobe was able to help me.

After a couple of tries reaching out to the support, I got connected to a human and they resolved it all in about 15 minutes. They just had to move my photos from my business profile to my personal profile. I restarted Lightroom and violà, all 40,000 photos back like they had never left. Thanks @Aleke !

This won't help the original person with lost files, but For anyone else reading this...
You should always have an extra copy of all files (or TWO full copies)
Computer crashes or changes happen, so use an external drive for copies
A USB flash drive to keep in a safe place... here are 2, there are many more available
PNY brand https://www.amazon.com/PNY-512GB-Turbo-Attach%C3%A9-Flash/dp/B0BF5VHLBZ
SanDisk https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-512GB-Ultra-Flash-Drive/dp/B083ZLJ5MG
Other flash drives are 1 or even 2 Terabytes
Formatting a flash drive https://www.usbmemorydirect.com/blog/flash-drive-format-types/
.
I use a Sata docking station and SEVERAL 'bare' drives for backup of my desktop computer
There are many external drive devices, this is the one I use

as far as adobe is concerned, whoever pays owns the cc files.  you can try to get them from the company, if you're on good terms.

otherwise, What happens to my existing files?
You can continue to access your Creative Cloud files on your computer and the Creative Cloud website, subject to a 2-GB cloud storage limit. If you’re over the 2-GB cloud storage limit when you cancel, you have 30 days to move files out of cloud storage.
